About Membership Rewards

  • 1. How do I earn points?


    If you are enrolled, you can earn one point for virtually every US Dollar or Euro spent. To earn rewards, use your Card for all purchases big or small, wherever you see the 'American Express Welcome' sign and watch your points add up. Supplementary Cards for your loved ones will also add to your points balance.

    Please note that the following are not eligible spend, so will not earn Membership Rewards points:

    • interest
    • all fees (including annual membership fees)
    • cash advances (including transactions treated as cash)
    • loading of pre paid cards
    • American Express Travellers Cheque purchases
    • foreign exchange transactions
    • any amounts that are subsequently re-credited to your Card Account by way of refunds.

  • 2. How can I earn points more quickly?


    Simply follow these easy steps:

    -Remember to use your Card every day for eligible purchases, from petrol for your car and your weekly supermarket shop to eating out.
    -Use your Card for high value purchases such as travel and your Points will grow even faster.
    -Add Supplementary Cards to your account and you will also earn Points when these Cards are used. See more information or request a Supplementary Card online, or alternatively call +44 (0) 1273 868 900.

  • 3. How do I redeem my points?


    If you're enrolled in online services, visit https://www.americanexpress.com/icc/eurodollar and log in to your Membership Rewards account. You may then search for and select your reward. If you're not enrolled in online services click here to enrol today. Alternatively, if you do not have online access or would prefer to discuss and redeem your reward over the telephone, you can call us on +44 (0) 1273 868 900.

  • 4. What can I redeem my points for?



    Your points will give you access to an exciting range of rewards. Enjoy shopping rewards from gift cards and vouchers for your everyday purchases to luxurious fashion and beauty. Discover transfer rewards with access to a selection of the world’s leading frequent flyer and hotel rewards programmes. There are also numerous financial rewards such as using your points for a credit on your Card account. Whatever your taste, the perfect reward awaits you.

    All rewards (other than the redemption of Select and Pay with Points credits) are provided by the rewards provider and not by us, our affiliates or our subsidiaries.

  • 5. How do I transfer my points?


    Prior to transferring your points, please ensure that your frequent flyer or frequent guest account is linked to your Membership Rewards account. Please call the Membership Rewards team on +44 (0) 01273 868900 to transfer your Points or link your details to your Membership Rewards account. Please allow up to 10 working days for us to verify your account.
    If you have already linked your Frequent flyer or frequent guest account to your Membership Rewards account, you can transfer your points to your chosen partner Programme online. Click here for a list of participating frequent flyer and frequent guest programmes.

  • 6. How long does it take to transfer points into my participating frequent flyer or frequent guest programme account?


    Provided you are already enrolled and your accounts are linked then the points transfer will usually be complete within 5 working days but please allow up to 10 working days for your Membership Rewards points to reach your partner account. This varies for frequent flyer partner and can be much faster, so please refer to the partner details for specific timings.

  • 7. Can I transfer points into someone else's airline rewards or frequent guest account?


    No, Membership Rewards Points can only be transferred by you into an account in your name.

  • 8. I've transferred points from my Membership Rewards programme to my airline rewards or frequent guest account but I can't get the booking I want. Can I transfer them back?


    This is not possible, as point transfers to frequent flyer and frequent guest partner programmes are irreversible.

  • 9. Once I have redeemed my Membership Rewards points for a reward, can I cancel the redemption and request for the refund of the points?


    No. Once points have been exchanged for a reward, the points cannot be converted back into your Membership Rewards account.

  • 10. Are there any restrictions as to when I can use my Gift Card or Voucher


    You must use your gift card or voucher before the expiry date. Please refer to the Terms and Conditions on your gift card or voucher or the Terms and Conditions specified on the relevant gift card page on our website.

  • 11. Can I send reward items to a different address or to someone else?


    Yes, you can change the desired delivery address during the check out process. Please note, however, that certain delivery restrictions may apply to the designated shipping address. If so, you will be advised accordingly.

  • 12. How long does it take to process my order?


    We will process your request as quickly as possible however due to the variety of rewards, the delivery policy and terms may differ from reward to reward. Please note that:

    • Merchandise items can take up to 28 business days for delivery.
    • Gift cards and vouchers can take up to 14 business days for delivery.
    • Points for Credit requests take approximately 3 business days before showing on your account.

  • 13. What do I do if I have not received my reward item in the time frame advised?

  • 14. Can I cancel or return a reward order?


    Reward orders cannot be cancelled generally after submission of your order; however, please note that return policies may vary across reward merchants and that additional, reward-specific terms & conditions may apply.     If the item is damaged, faulty or incorrect, please call the Membership Rewards team on +44 (0) 01273 868900 for further details about returning reward items.

    We regret that all other items are not exchangeable, replaceable, transferable or refundable for cash or credit.
